  1. I live on a large ranch with my best friend and her husband…between us we have 17 horses. We buy our hay in bulk as needed and split the load and cost, then store it in our own respective areas.

  2. I buy 2-3 round bales every 2 weeks once the grass stops growing for the year until it comes back in the spring.

  3. I buy hay about every month because of storage limitations. I usually get two tons per trip.

  4. My grower stores a year’s supply for me and delivers about 3 times a year for my one horse.

  5. Since there was no option for every two weeks, I voted for monthly. I buy hay every two weeks, due to limited storage space.

  6. Feeding 3 horses an all forage diet means hay is a primary feed source. In addition, I do not have adequate hay storage for more than 30-40 bales of hay at one time

  7. We have a guy down the road who just gives us hay for free, so whenever we run out, we go grab more. Sometimes it’s months, sometimes it’s just a few days. Really depends on how much we get, how many horses we have at the time, and how good the ground forage is.
