Jaci Rae Jackson, the former Southern Arkansas University (SAU) student charged with the 2011 theft of Quarter Horses belonging to members of the school’s rodeo team, has been sentenced to serve 10 years in prison in Arkansas. In January, Jackson was sentenced in Oklahoma for her role in the incident.

In November 2011, the five Quarter Horses were taken from the Mulerider Stables on the university’s Magnolia, Ark., campus. Four of the missing horses were recovered in McCurtain County, Okla., and McCurtain County sheriff’s deputies later found the remains of the fifth missing horse.

Arkansas State Police later arrested Jackson and charged her with six counts felony theft of property in Arkansas. Oklahoma law enforcement authorities also charged Jackson with three felonies in connection with the thefts.

On Jan. 27, Jackson was sentenced to serve 42 months in prison in Oklahoma and seven months of probation in connection with the case
