If your horse wears a blanket, chances are you’ve had to make repairs or replace a blanket or two. Despite our attempts to buy durable, long-lasting horse blankets, some horses just have a way of putting their blankets through extra wear and tear.

We asked horse owners to share their tips for repairing and maintaining their horse blankets. Here are a few of the helpful hints they shared.

“I use heavy fishing line to patch our horses blankets. Recently I patched a hole on the inside using liner fabric to cover the hole and hold in the filler and stitched with fishing line. The fishing line holds very well.”—Kelly Cody
