TheHorse.com’s Facebook fans have selected Stefanie Moat’s photo of “Quinn” as the winner of our 2021 “My Horse Is Worth Protecting” contest. She will receive a prize pack from Manna Pro valued at more than $90 for her winning entry.
We asked readers to share photos of their horses and explain why their horse is important to them. TheHorse.com’s Facebook fans voted for their favorites.
In her entry, Moat said:
“This mare is 7 years old and she’s worth protecting because she already came off the kill pen one time. When I tracked down her previous owners, they described her as ‘the next up-and-coming antichrist that bucked off all the cowboys.’ When I pulled her off the kill pen, she had a fractured fetlock. And I understand her, as I had a broken ankle and two screws. She’s never tried to dump me. We have gone on to barrel race and honor our fallen heroes in ways some can only dream of!
Yes, that is real smoke off a Navy SNJ-5. The pilot is airshow famous Don Nelson who was an Army aviator and earned 18 air combat medals. This was an honor to do alongside him.”
