How to Enter

Submit your entry by:

  • Posting a photo of your barn dog on TheHorse.com’s Facebook wall (Facebook.com/TheHorse) using the hashtag #BestBarnDog; or
  • Posting a photo of your barn dog to Instagram and tagging The Horse (@thehorsemag). Don’t forget to use the hashtag #BestBarnDog.

Entries will be accepted Aug 2-21, 2022.

How to Win

All qualifying entries will be posted on TheHorse.com’s Facebook page on August 22, 2022. Fans of TheHorse.com will be able to vote for their favorite “Best Barn Dog” entries by liking or reacting to their favorite photos within the contest album. The entry receiving the most votes by 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 29, 2022, will be the winner.

Give Your Dog His or Her 15 Minutes of Fame

We will contact the winning owner about having their dog’s story featured in an article on TheHorse.com. The winner will also receive a prize pack from Vitalize K9.

Contest Rules

Entries can be submitted from August 2, 2022, through August 21, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Entrants must include a photo and specify that it is being submitted as part of the contest.

All qualifying entries will be posted in a Facebook album on The Horse Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TheHorse) on August 22, 2022. Fans of TheHorse.com will be able to vote for their favorite “Best Barn Dogs” by liking or reacting to their favorite photos within the contest album. The entry receiving the most votes (likes/reactions) by 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 29, 2022, will be considered the winner. The winner will be notified by direct message via Facebook or Instagram (depending on entry method) on August 30 and will have 72 hours to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond in 72 hours, the next-most-liked entry will be notified, and so on, until the prize is claimed. Once the winner has been notified and claimed their prize, it will be announced on TheHorse.com’s Facebook page.You must be 13 years or older to participate.

Only U.S. residents are eligible to win. The winner must provide a valid U.S. address to receive their prize.

You must have rights to the photo you post with your dog’s story. It must be a photo you took or a photo you have permission to use.

At our sole discretion photos/entries may be excluded and removed from participation.

By submitting your photo, you give TheHorse.com royalty-free permission to publish, reproduce, modify, or distribute your dog’s story and photo. You will not be entitled to compensation for any use by TheHorse.com of your story or photo. You retain the copyright of your photo. For additional information, see TheHorse.com Terms of Use.
