Uckele Health & Nutrition Reformulates Focus Calm

(Blissfield, MI) Uckele Health & Nutrition has reformulated the original formula for Focus Calm to exclude phenibut after USEF’s ban of the substance for competition yesterday. The reformulation of Focus Calm that excludes phenibut has been available for five weeks.

Uckele Health & Nutrition appreciates the fact that USEF monitors equine products and product claims, and their effects on the performance of horses in competition. Uckele was informed of USEF’s concerns with phenibut earlier this summer, and took immediate action to remove it from Focus Calm, the only Uckele product that contained this ingredient.

CEO Mike Uckele comments, “As soon as we were made aware of USEF’s potential issue with the ingredient, we immediately reformulated the product. We have had the new formula on the shelf for more than 5 weeks. Uckele takes this issue very seriously, and wishes to make it clear that phenibut has been studied for use in animals for years, and has been found by outside researchers to be safe for horses. We believe that calming products have an important place in horse management, helping horses handle the normal, everyday stressors they may encounter. We strive to formulate products that are safe and effective for all horses, because calm horses are safer for their riders.”

Uckele will be happy to exchange any non-expired original Focus Calm formula for the new formula that is now being manufactured without phenibut. Uckele can be contacted at customerservice@uckele.com or 800-248-0330.

Uckele Health & Nutrition is a proud member of the National Animal Supplement Council, and has been an industry leader in following all of their labeling and claims guidelines
