Former Kentucky Derby Museum Ambassador Winston Dies at 24

Winston’s sudden death was caused by an infection in his abdominal cavity, his treating veterinarian said.

Winston, the Miniature Horse that long resided at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, has died at the age of 24.

In February, Winston was retired from the museum and moved to Old Friends, the Thoroughbred retirement facility in Georgetown, Kentucky, where he continued to greet visitors and fans. Winston would have turned 25 on May 4.
