Repeat Convicted New York Horse Abuser Sent to Jail

A New York woman previously convicted of horse abuse has been sentenced to serve one year in jail for failing to obtain veterinary care for a horse in her care.
In 2011, Saratoga County authorities in removed 14 maltreated horses from Ann Arnold’s Greenfield, New York, property; another nine horses were rescued in place. Arnold was later found guilty of multiple animal cruelty charges and sentenced to serve three years’ probation, during which time she was forbidden from having horses on her property. One year later, Arnold was found guilty of violating her parole and was sentenced to serve time in the Saratoga County jail.
Then, in 2016, she was convicted of failing to provide proper veterinary treatment for a horse in her care. The animal was later euthanized.
A court representative said that, during a June 18 appearance in the Town of Glen Justice Court, Arnold was sentenced to serve one year in the Montgomery County, New York, Correctional Facility and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and a $205 surcharge mandated by the State of New York
