Shirley, N.Y., Oct. 31, 2018 – Luitpold Animal Health, manufacturer of Adequan® i.m. (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), has renewed its partnership with the Breeders’ Cup World Championships as the Official Equine Joint Healthcare Partner. This includes sponsorship of the “Best Turned Out Award.” The 2018 Breeders’ Cup will take place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 2-3.

“It is an honor to be part of this preeminent event in Thoroughbred racing,” says Allyn Mann, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Luitpold Animal Health. “We recognize the people who have committed to owning and caring for these amazing equine athletes. Without the owners’ investment in the sport and the caretakers who labor tirelessly day after day caring for the health and wellbeing of these racehorses, the sport would not exist.”

One horse from each of the 14 Breeders’ Cup races (13 Grade 1 events) deserving of recognition for its general overall appearance and condition will be chosen for the “Best Turned Out Award.” The caretaker of the horse chosen will receive $500 in cash, a Breeders’ Cup Championship blanket, and will be acknowledged in the winner’s circle before the race in which their horse is participating.

“The strategic partnership with Adequan has been well received by our participating horsemen and we appreciate Adequan’s continued support of the Breeders’ Cup,” says Bryan Pettigrew, Chief Marketing Officers, Breeders’ Cup Limited
