Horses Surrendered From Virginia Rescue Farm

More than 40 horses are receiving rehabilitative care after being surrendered by the operators of a Virginia rescue organization.

Culpeper County administrator John C. Egertson, said investigators from Culpeper County Animal Services responded to a complaint about the condition of the horses at Eagle Hill Equine Rescue, near Fredericksburg, last month. Upon arrival, investigators discovered six animals in poor condition due to age, health conditions, and improper herd management, he said. 

The facility’s owners subsequently surrendered 43 horses to Animal Services, which placed them at four equine rescue organizations, including the Central Virginia Horse Rescue, in Kenbridge, Egertson said
