Keri and "Abby"
"My 5-year-old ApHC mare, An Awesome Betty, is keeping me plenty busy outdoors. Last summer was her first summer under saddle. Living in Minnesota presents its own challenges when training a horse, especially when one does not have an indoor arena on the property to utilize. My goal with 'Abby is to have a versatile horse. We have gone on weekend trail rides, had several dressage lessons, ran with a local fox hunting group (a live fox is not used) and recently had a cutting lesson. Abby's first novice endurance ride is at the end of this month. COVID has not limited us. The concern of others is priority so I follow the rules and continue to enjoy and learn with my horse." | Photo: Keri Larson Wesley
Jace Wild and Angel Steel Bar
"2020 has defiantly been challenging for the rodeo world across the nation, as most events have been canceled due to COVID-19. The life of quarantine has turned us into a pirate underground rodeo family. Above all the challenges we have encountered, I want to introduce you to my son Jace Wild! He is a 9-year-old ball of fire who rides a big gray mare named Angel. I’ve owned her since she was 6 months old, she turned 21 this April. Together they have continued to come out ahead with a win of an all around saddle and four buckles, thus far into the 2020 rodeo season. " | Photo: Stacy Green

"#HorseTime2020 has certainly been different this year amidst the pandemic, however it has not decreased quantity of time despite canceling of shows, etc. My #HorseTime2020 includes more quality time spent with each horse, more training time to work on and refine new and old skills, and gorgeous morning sunrises!" | Photo: Bennett Baughman
Learning New Skills
"I took this time to increase my horse time in so many ways! I earned my certification as an equine craniosacral therapist to help my own rescues with their physical issues, and I got my courage up to do some bridleless riding and introducing my horse to the big ball, bridleless! No sticks, no strings!" | Photo: Jen Thackery
"Cricket"
"Cricket, a 29-inch mini competing in a team derby in May 2020 in Florida. By far the smallest entry and the spectators' favorite. His team took home the blue ribbon. I actually cried!" | Photo: Sherrill Clark
