The BLM said it plans to gather and remove approximately 300 wild horses due to the area’s limited water supply.
The BLM said discussion topics will include the backlog of unadopted and unsold animals in BLM facilities and what adverse effects wild horse overpopulation is having on public lands.
The 7-year-old horse from Monmouth County had not been vaccinated against EEE in 2018 and was euthanized on Sept. 4.
