Three California men have been charged with attempting to shoot wild burros in a residential area of Moreno Valley.

In written statement the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a call about men using a firearm to shoot at feral burros near occupied homes in Moreno Valley on April 18. The statement said deputies recovered the firearm and an investigation revealed that none of the feral burros were injured in the incident.

Deputies subsequently arrested Jonhy Fabela, Joel Rodriquez, and Edurado Loza and charged them with attempted animal cruelty and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner.

None of the three were unavailable for comment
