An Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) audit has determined that Truesdail Laboratory, the commission’s former primary laboratory, missed seven positive drug tests—including one for methylphenidate (Ritalin), a Class 1 drug—over the 26 days during which the audit was conducted.

The commission terminated its contract with Truesdail Laboratory, in Tustin, California, in May. At that time, three missed positives, all for corticosteroids, were found by the audit and referee laboratories.

Industrial Laboratory, in Denver, Colorado, has been retained as Indiana’s primary laboratory
