There is a 309-mile section of the U.S./Canadian border from Washington State into Montana that is so rugged that vehicles can’t be used. However, the Border Patrol that is responsible for that area uses natives to help them negotiate the difficult terrain–horses captured in the wild and now working for the U.S. government.
