The barn fire that killed more than a dozen horses last week has been ruled accidental by fire authorities in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
On Nov. 11, fire personnel responded to a 911 call about a barn fire at the Smithfield Stables. Smithfield Stables' website said the farm offered boarding as well as saddle seat riding and driving lessons. Chief Bruce Stack, of the Edwardsburg Fire Department, said that 17 horses located in the barn died in the blaze.
Stack said fire investigators ruled the blaze accidental.
