A Pennsylvania man charged with animal cruelty for beating a fallen wagon horse has pleaded guilty to the charges against him. 

Earlier this month, deputies responded to a call about a man repeatedly beating a wagon horse that was on its side along a roadway. On the scene, police determined that Marvin M. Sensenig had allegedly struck the horse unreasonably after it had become overburdened by the heavy load contained in the wagon it was pulling. The horse collapsed and was later euthanized. 

After a police investigation, Sensenig was arrested and charged with two counts of animal cruelty. 

Sensenig pleaded guilty to both summary counts of animal cruelty during his court appearance on Aug. 8 in Lancaster County. Judge Tony S. Russell subsequently sentenced Sensenig to pay a total of $600 in fines and $154.50 in court costs, a county spokesperson said
