Germany’s Simone Blum etched her name into the record books when she became the first woman in the 28-year history of the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018 to secure the individual gold medal when she jumped clean with a single time fault aboard DSP Alice.

Team USA won a thrilling jump-off to take its first WEG jumping gold medal. Sweden took the silver and Germany claimed the bronze.

Team USA is stalking the leaders by less than a single penalty point, leaving them no room for error. Germany is sitting in third going into the team medal round.

A fault-free round from Steve Guerdat and the fiery mare Bianca put the 2012 Olympic champion and Team Switzerland into pole position as the jumping championship got underway.

The Germans successfully defended their title by securing the 2018 WEG dressage team gold medal Sept. 13. Team USA took home the silver and Great Britain claimed the bronze.
