Free fecal water syndrome (FFWS) in horses often requires ongoing management, including forage adjustments, nutritional changes, and monitoring to maintain gut health. Although some management changes can help reduce the clinical signs in these horses, researchers are still working to understand the condition. Kristi Gran, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, of Conley & Koontz Equine Hospital in Columbia City, Indiana, explains how owners can manage horses with FFWS in this Ask TheHorse Live excerpt.

This podcast is an excerpt of our Ask TheHorse Live Q&A, “Managing Chronic Conditions in Horses” Listen to the full recording here.
