A barn at Turfway Park was quarantined Jan. 30 after a horse that showed signs of equine herpesvirus (EHV) was euthanized, track officials confirmed later that day.
The barn, which contains about 40 horses under the care of several trainers, will be quarantined pending test results of blood samples from the deceased horse, which Daily Racing Form identified as Rockhouse Rocket. Turfway officials said test results are expected sometime Jan. 31.
The samples were sent to a testing laboratory at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Upon receiving those results, Turfway will provide additional updates, officials said.
