Missouri Horse Herd Removed for Rehabilitation

A heard of horses is receiving rehabilitative care after being removed from a property in Morgan County, Missouri. The horses were among 150 animals, including dogs, cats, and goats, taken from the premises.
Jeane Jae, vice president of communications for the Humane Society of Missouri Animal (HSMO) Cruelty Task Force, said HSMO personnel, in cooperation with the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, removed 30 horses from a property near Barnett on May 6. The herd was allegedly malnourished and included foals and pregnant mares, Jae said.
“The horses had body condition scores ranging from 2 to 4 on the Henneke Body Condition Scale,” Jae said.
Additionally, the remains of a foal were found in a barrel on the premises, Jae said
