Vandell Ellis Snow, DVM, a prominent veterinarian and horse farm owner from Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara County, has died in a plane crash near San Diego.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office said the 58-year-old Snow crashed April 8 while practicing for an acrobatic flying contest at the Borrego Springs Airport, which is south of Palm Springs, Calif.
In 1997 Snow founded Santa Lucia Farm, a veterinary clinic and breeding facility for horses in Santa Ynez, according to a statement issued by his veterinarian office. The center specializes in horse lameness and reproductive expertise
