The Retired Racehorse Project’s 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover took place October 4-7, 2018, at the Kentucky Horse Park. This year’s event featured more than 500 off-track-Thoroughbreds competing in 10 different equestrian sports.

The Retired Racehorse Project’s 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover took place October 4-7, 2018, at the Kentucky Horse Park. The event was created to showcase the trainability of and talent of off-track Thoroughbreds. This year’s event featured more than 500 OTTB’s competing in 10 different equestrian sports. Here are a few of this year’s athletes.

Elisa Wallace and Reloaded

Kyle Rothfus and Run Binky Run
Kyle Rothfus, Retired Racehorse Project’s 2017 Ambassador Award Winner, rides Run Binky Run in the Competitive Trail division. Isabella de Sousa and Cozmic One ride their first Show Hunter round on Day 1 of the Makeover. De Sousa and “Coz” were favorites at the Makeover because of both the 17-year-old’s past successes at the Makeover and the 6-year-old gelding’s famous dam: Zenyatta.
