New Bolton Center Lecture to Focus on Recognizing Lameness
Sports medicine specialists Liz Arbittier, VMD, CVA, and Jessica Morgan, DVM, PhD, will discuss evaluating and diagnosing lameness as part of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine New Bolton Center’s First Tuesday Lecture series.
The interactive presentation, “Sports Medicine: Try Your Hand at Diagnosing Lameness,” will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the New Bolton Center’s Alumni Hall, 382 West Street Road, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Arbittier, an assistant professor of equine field service at New Bolton Center, specializes in prepurchase examinations, assisting sport horse owners throughout the region. Morgan is a second-year resident in sports medicine and rehabilitation.
Recognizing lameness is a crucial skill for any horse owner, but is one that can take a lot of practice to develop. Some people can hear a lameness, some can feel a lameness, and some can see that a horse isn’t quite right, but they aren’t sure which leg is hurting
