  1. Also 24/7 turnout: dirt floors in the barn which they come & go as they please for shelter from sun & heat, or precipitation. They choose to lay down & rest out in the paddocks.

  2. My horses are on 24/7 turnout as well, their shelters have soft dirt “floors” that is kept raked out; the manure is removed by tractor and spread in a large “sacrifice area” that is occasionally used for riding.

  3. I wasn’t logged in when voting for “Other”, so I couldn’t specify details, as requested, so here they are: my horses are on turnout 24/7 and sleep in their paddock on the very sandy, soft soil (they choose the run-in shed only when it’s raining or has rained a lot and want to dry their feet on the pea gravel there).

  4. My horses don’t have a stall and are kept on 24/7 turnout instead. They have access to a 3-sided shelter with roof that is just filled with dirt – like a dry lot.
