Alltech will shine the spotlight on hard-working, under-recognized members of the equine community through its Equine Heroes campaign, which was introduced Dec. 20 during Olympia at the London International Horse Show, in England.

Members of the worldwide equestrian community can visit the Equine Heroes Facebook page to nominate an "Equine Hero" in their life. Equine Heroes will have a chance to win prizes including gift baskets, vouchers, equestrian merchandise, and tickets to equine events each month. In addition, the Equine Heroes website will provide the latest news from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy, France, and more.

The Alltech "Equine Hero" is a passionate, hard-working individual who goes the extra mile to engage peers and family members in the horse industry. These heroes are all around us–like the farrier who endures a chronic backache to continue his craft or the dedicated barn mom who prepares show ponies at 6 a.m.

"At Alltech we know what it means to support others in the industry outside of the spotlight; for more than 30 years, we have provided the natural nutrition behind many of the top horse feeds and supplements around the world," said Clare Fahey, Alltech’s equine marketing manager. "The Equine Heroes out there mucking stalls, waking up early for shows, instructing outdoors in the winter cold, going the extra mile to ensure the welfare of horses in their care–these are the people that make the horse industry great, and we want to reward their unsung efforts
