Zenyatta Foals Tapit Colt

Zenyatta, the 2010 Horse of the Year, produced her second foal on her birthday April 1, Team Zenyatta confirmed via Twitter. The popular mare foaled a colt by top sire Tapit at 11:47 p.m. EDT at Lane’s End Farm in Lexington, Ky.
Estimated at 145 pounds, he is a leggy chestnut with a white blaze similar to Zenyatta’s, according to the mare’s website, www.zenyatta.com. He was standing on his own by 12:18 and nursing within the hour.
The 9-year-old mare and her colt were reported to be doing well.
Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, Zenyatta won 19 of 20 starts and earned $7.3 million in her racing career. She is by Street Cry (IRE) out of the Kris S. mare Vertigineux. Her first foal is a yearling colt by Bernardini
