A former champion Quarter Horse abused by his previous owners has found a permanent home on a 140-acre Florida ranch.

He’s Doubly Sonny brought $14,000 at a Polk County Sheriff’s auction two weeks ago, and already several people are requesting his stud service.

Sonny, as he’s now known, was underfed and living in what a veterinarian called a “sewage swamp” when deputies found him three years ago. He was nursed back to health in a stall on a sheriff’s farm in Bartow.
