New Ultrasound Needles Improve Targeting of Deep Nerve Blocks and Aspirations
Brighter, easier-to-see tips and reduced lateral deviation solve problems for equine veterinarians.

CINCINNATI, September 20, 2010/Havel’s Incorporated/ — Havel’s announces the release of three new extra long ultrasound needles of interest to equine veterinarians.   The new needles feature micro-laser etchings (MLETM) at the tips to create brighter, easier-to-see images under ultrasound even at steep angles.   In addition to the ultrasound enhancements, Havel’s needles feature unique back-bevels on their tip geometry.  These back bevels dramatically reduce lateral deviation.  Havel’s needles are the only brand to feature back bevels in the USA.

The new needles include the Echogenic AccuTarg¨ in either Quincke or Chiba points, and the EchoTuohy.   All feature the MLETM reflectors for enhanced ultrasound visualization.   They are available in 6″ and 8″ lengths as well as shorter versions.   “Our unique laser etching process offers brighter tip images for more accurate needle placement,” says John Barrett, vice president of sales for Havel’s.  “And any equine practitioner familiar with the problem of lateral deviation from long needles will really appreciate our back bevels.  These needles improve your control and save time in achieving your objective,” Barrett says
