Diarrhea

The horse’s large intestine absorbs large volumes of fluid from the bowel. Any circumstance that upsets normal intestinal flora of the large colon can create a chain of events leading to intestinal fluid losses. Inflammation of the small or large intestine also might generate copious secretions of fluid into the bowel in excess of what can be reabsorbed.
Mild cases of soft stools are not necessarily cause for alarm, because some fluid loss can be replenished through water and food consumption. In about 60% of adult horse diarrhea cases, the originating cause isn’t identified.
This free report provides you with an overview of the cause and risks of diarrhea. Because diarrhea can range from mild to serious, consult your veterinarian immediately upon recognition of a problem.
