Researchers at Middle Tennessee State University are conducting a study on horse owners' beliefs about and use of supplements, and are seeking participants to complete an online survey.

Graduate student Nicole Swirsley is collecting information on where owners get supplement information, opinions about the safety and effectiveness of equine supplements, and if there is a correlation between breed or discipline and how horse owners choose supplements.

"We hope to use the results of our study to help develop better educational programs about supplements for people in the equine industry," she said.

Swirsley said she is hoping to collect information from horse owners across the country: "We want to get a good representation of the country as a whole, and the more responses we get, the better we can tailor educational programs about supplements in the future. We would also like to obtain responses from as many disciplines and levels of the industry as possible
