Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) has appointed trainer Graham Motion and farm manager Ned Toffey to its board of directors.

"We are thrilled to welcome Graham Motion and Ned Toffey to the TCA board," Dan Rosenberg, president of TCA, said in a statement. "I look forward to working alongside them as we work to advance the mission of Thoroughbred Charities of America."

Motion, a native of Cambridge, England, began his career with Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard followed by employment with trainer Jonathan Pease in Chantilly, France. In 1990, Motion went to work as assistant to Bernie Bond and, in 1993, obtained his trainer's license and began his own operation.

His stable won 21 races, three of them stakes, in its first year. He has gone on to train Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands and Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom, along with several Breeders' Cup winners and numerous graded stakes winners
