WEG: Alltech Recognizes First ‘A+’ Award Recipients; TheHorse.com’s Beckstett Honored

Today Alltech announced the first recipients of the Alltech 'A+' Award, established to honor creativity, passion, and excellence in equine journalism. The media contest was organized in partnership with American Horse Publications (AHP) and the International Alliance of Equestrian Journalists (IAEJ) and open to the members of both organizations.

 

Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech, presented an Alltech 'A+' Award and $500 check to the following members of the media during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games:

  • Kim and Allen MacMillan, IAEJ members: Photo published in April and June 2010 issues of Equine Times;

  • Alexandra Beckstett, AHP member, now on staff at The Horse/TheHorse.com as features/departments editor: "Peerless Park" story published in the Spring 2010 issue of Keeneland magazine, sister publication to The Horse

  • Kat Netzler, AHP member: Published photo of William Fox-Pitt; and

  • Marti McGinnis, AHP: Published video.

"On behalf of all my colleagues at Alltech, I want to recognize the dedication of these equestrian media who work long, often thankless hours in all weather to chronicle the stories of the horse," said Lyons. "The Alltech A+ Award is just a small token of our appreciation for the passion and creativity of these journalists
