Investigators with the Sherburne County, Minn., sheriff’s office are looking into a weekend horse shooting they believe was intentional, reported KARE 11, a Twin Cities television news station.
The horse, a black-and-white Pinto named Poco, was used for therapy work. Her owners, Chris and Christine Madrigal, were planning to open a therapeutic riding summer camp for children with autism this summer, KARE 11 reported. Poco belonged to the Madrigals’ sons, both autistic.
KARE 11 reported that Christine Madrigal found Poco in her pasture on Saturday (Nov. 11) with three bullets in one leg.
