Upon returning from Oklahoma after seeing the destruction from the tornadoes that swept through the area on May 3, Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS), a part of the United Animal Nations (www.uan.org), Director Terri Crisp reported that many of the 25 horses injured at Tinker Air Force Base when the tornadoes smashed through their barns are still fighting to recover the major injuries they sustained during the storm. Flying debris slashed and tore open wounds on many of the horses and some also have suffered potentially blinding eye injuries. EARS volunteers helped care for the horses while in Moore, but medical care was coordinated by and continues to be provided by Dr. Wiley of Celestial Acres.
