Vet Students Receive Coyote Rock Ranch Scholarships

Three veterinary students aspiring toward careers in equine medicine have been selected to each receive a $75,000 Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarship.

Chosen from nearly 80 exceptional applicants, three distinguished veterinary students aspiring toward careers in equine medicine have been selected to each receive a $75,000 Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded by the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation on Dec. 3 during the 2018 AAEP Convention in San Francisco, California.

The scholarship recipients are:

  • Ashley Allemand, Louisiana State University
  • Brian Blanchard, Atlantic Veterinary College
  • Rachel Pfeifle, Auburn University

Allemand hopes to own an equine sports medicine practice one day.

“This award is truly life-changing,” she said. “The financial freedom offered by this award brings me closer to achieving my goals in veterinary medicine. Upon graduation from veterinary school, my career decisions will be focused on becoming the best equine veterinarian I can be, rather than my financial situation
