The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada’s Elko District Office has concluded its gather of wild horses from outside the Goshute Herd Management Area (HMA).

The agency gathered and removed 135 wild horses from public and private lands outside the Goshute HMA in eastern Nevada.

The BLM transported wild horses removed from the range to the Indian Lakes Off-Range Wild Horse and Burro Corral, in Fallon, Nevada, to be readied for its wild horse and burro adoption program. Unadopted wild horses will be placed in long-term pastures where they will be cared for and retain their wild status and protection under the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act
