WNV in Wyoming horses

Four Wyoming horses have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) reported Sept. 1. These are the first confirmed cases of WNV in Wyoming horses in 2018, according to EDCC data.

Three of the four horses are from Park County and one is from Sheridan County, the EDCC said.

In 2017 officials confirmed four cases of WNV in Wyoming horses, according to USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service data
