IFHA Equine Prohibited Substances Advisory Council Appoints New Members

Dr. Terence Wan, the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s chief advisor of doping control, will serve as chairman and Dr. Ludovic Bailly‐Chouriberry, MSc, PhD, director of Laboratoire des Courses Hippiques, in France, will serve as vice-chairman.

The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) has appointed a new chairman and vice chairman to its Equine Prohibited Substances Advisory Council, effective Sept. 1, IFHA Chairman Louis Romanet announced Sept. 3

Terence Wan, PhD, EurChem, CChem, FRSC, FAORC, the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s chief advisor of doping control, will serve as Equine Prohibited Substances Advisory Council chairman and Ludovic Bailly‐Chouriberry, MSc, PhD, director of Laboratoire des Courses Hippiques (LCH), in Verrières le Buisson, France, will serve as vice-chairman.

“Ensuring the quality and fairness of racing in the interest of all industry stakeholders is the most critical mission of the IFHA,” said Romanet. “Our advisory council is the peak body to advise racing authorities on best governance for doping control, to provide recommendations on benchmarks for testing and standards of research, and to promote ways of attaining international uniformity in these areas
