Officials at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) have confirmed that a 4-year-old Tarpan gelding is recovering after showing clinical signs of West Nile virus (WNV) on Sept. 10. The undervaccinated horse is Florida’s fourth equine case of WNV in 2019 and the first case in Volusia County.
