EHM Quarantine Released in Maine

A quarantine enacted on June 29 by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry (MDACF) for neurologic equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) in Kennebec County, Maine, has been released.

The first horse to display clinical signs was confirmed positive on June 29 and was subsequently euthanized.

On July 7, MDACF officials confirmed that contact tracing revealed two additional Kennebec County facilities that had been exposed
