The University of Maryland will host an introduction to farriery seminar on March 22 at the College Park Campus’ Animal Sciences Building.

Mike Poe, CJF, owner of Maryland-based Alpha Farrier Services, will speak on topics including hoof function and care, anatomy and conformation, and trimming and shoeing. He will also present a trimming and shoeing demonstration in the afternoon.

The course fee $50 per person and includes course materials and lunch. The event is limited to 40 participants, so interested parties are encouraged to register early
