The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person or persons responsible for using an accelerant to set a horse on fire in Crawford County, Pa., back in August.

On Aug. 26 "Northstar" was grazing in his pasture when someone doused him with an unknown accelerant and set him on fire. The horse survived, but sustained first-, second-, and third-degree burns to over 40% of his body.

The horse was immediately transported to Ohio State University Veterinary School for treatment. A veterinary examination concluded that someone had used accelerant to intentionally set the horse ablaze.
