The Many Faces of EPM Take 2: Free Webinar at TheHorse.com
Equine protozoal myeloencephalitis, or EPM, is the most commonly diagnosed neurologic condition in horses, particularly in the Western Hemisphere. Many horses have been exposed to the disease, but not all of them get sick, and those that do can display a wide range of clinical signs, making diagnosis and targeted treatment a challenge.
Learn more about this common disease in Take 2 of TheHorse.com’s popular webinar The Many Faces of EPM. This free webinar includes a brief introduction to the disease and features four renowned equine veterinarians/researchers discussing the challenges of diagnosing EPM and treating it properly in a roundtable format on Sept. 27, 8:00-9:00 p.m. Eastern time (5-6 p.m. Pacific time), on TheHorse.com. These veterinarians include Stephen Reed, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, of Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky.; Frank Andrews, DVM, MS, Dipl. ACVIM, professor and director of the Equine Health Studies Program at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine; Amy L. Johnson, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, assistant professor of Large Animal Medicine and Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania; and W. David Wilson, DVM, MS, BVMS, MRCVS, professor of medicine and epidemiology at the University of California, Davis.
