His research interest is gastrointestinal physiology in horses, studying the mechanisms of injury and repair in the gut with the clinical outlook of enhancing recovery of horses with colic.

Her research areas include equine colic, duodenitis-proximal jejunitis, and equine gastrointestinal disease.
