  1. Thanks Susan. I didn’t know to look for B&Bs with horse facilities. I will explore this avenue. The feed store tip is useful as well! I envy your experience.

  2. We live in Oregon and have never had the opportunity to ride on the Pacific Ocean beach. I found a nice family that rented stalls/pastures where we boarded our two horses for a reasonable price. This was beneficial so we felt safe leaving the horses to go wander through the town and sight see. We had a camper that we stayed in for a couple nights and finally got to ride on the beach which was very anticlimactic. We ended up really enjoying riding on extensive logging roads in the hills across the road from the stable. It was lovely, though my husband was stressed out over a little bear scat.

  3. We have taken our horses on vacation many times! To the Eastern Sierras, Mammoth Mountain, Napa, Sonoma, Point Reyes, down the California Coast, Half Moon Bay, all around Southern California! I used to take horse camp vacations but now that I’m older I like to find B&Bs with horse facilities…. Taking my horse is an amazing way to explore and experience an area. When I want to find out the really good trails and anything I need or want horse related, I ask the local feed stores. They are a wealth of information.
