Horses in Duplin, Forsyth, Mecklenburg, Surry and Yadkin counties have tested positive for EIA.

Horses in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas have become sick with suspected botulism linked to alfalfa cubes, which are distributed to feed stores in 10 states.
Twelve horses in Louisiana have died from suspected botulism, and nine horses remain hospitalized.
One horse in Bay County, Michigan, is positive for strangles, and 16 horses have been exposed.
Another horse at Churchill Downs in Jefferson County, Kentucky, has tested positive for EHV-1, bringing the total cases to seven.
