Dr. Carrie Jacobs will discuss synovial structures, why they’re important, what can go wrong, and how to treat them.
The course includes information on common health issues, the species’ history, equine business and research, and more.
The award recognizes individuals whose lives have been profoundly changed because of their involvement with horses.
Thomas Divers, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, AVECC, will furnish a game plan to identify and treat diseases of the equine liver.
Nikki Scherrer, DVM, will cover horse health issues related to shows, such as medications, emergencies, and regulations.
Dr. Emilie Setlakwe will present “A Cough, a Wheeze, Could it be Heaves?” at Tryon Equine Hospital.
“Veterinary nursing day” will feature lectures aimed specifically at members of the profession.
Lecture topics will include forage types, efficient forage use, hay production and quality, and more.
Ophthalmologist Catherine Nunnery, DVM, will present “Equine Vision: What Does My Horse See?” on Sept. 8.
Three equine dental experts will be presenting live demonstrations and running practical sessions each day..
The Aug. 18 lecture topic will be “Biosecurity and Vaccination: Evaluating Flu and Herpes Risk.”
The topics on the agenda are related to pasture renovation and establishment and summer and fall grazing options.
