Shopping for a horse can quickly become a long distance project. While some buyers find the horse of their dreams in their own town, others might have to search outside their county, state, region, or even country to find the perfect mount.

In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers how far they extend their geographical search when shopping or looking for a new horse. More than 600 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 652 respondents, 254 (39%) said they search within their multi-state region, while 183 (28%) said they search within their state when shopping for a new horse. Another 108 individuals (17%) said they search within their own country. Several respondents kept their search on a local level—44 people (7%) said they search within their county, and another 37 respondents (6%) search within their town or city. The remaining 26 respondents (4%) said they extend their search internationally when shopping for a new horse
