Maine House of Representative member and Standardbred owner Donald G. Marean has been elected to the American Horse Council (AHC) Board of Trustees.

Marean served four years in the Maine House of Representatives (2005-2008), and was re-elected to the House in 2012 and 2014, where he is currently serving.

“I am really looking forward to opportunity to serve as a trustee of The American Horse Council,” said Marean. “Currently I am serving my fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives and I sit on the Joint Standing Committee of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry. I have been on this committee all four terms and I am hoping I can bring some legislative experience to AHC. Maine has about 35,000 horses and contributes approximately $320 million annually to Maine’s economy.”
